A drunk driver, who has been accused of killing a Filipino in a hit-and-run case in New Taipei, has been released on bail.
The man fatally injured the Filipino cyclist in a hit-and-run accident on Sunday (March 20).

By around 4:27 a.m., as they reached near Rui-Ping Elementary School in New Taipei’s Linkou District, one of them was hit from behind by a car that send him flying to the side of the road as per reports from Taiwan News.
When the paramedics arrived at the scene, the cyclist’s condition had deteriorated following which they rushed him to Mackay Memorial Hospital in Tamsui District, where doctors pronounced him dead.
The driver of the vehicle, surnamed Chien, had drunk heavily at a fishing pond and the accident took place as he was driving back to his residence in New Taipei’s Bali District.
His vehicle showed signs of impact like a shattered windshield.
