Dubai Customs has foiled 2,669 attempts to smuggle counterfeit products into the country in the first nine months of 2021.
One of the more recent attempts to smuggle a large shipment of counterfeit skincare products from an Asian country via air freight was foiled by the authorities.

According to Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs, the move helped the Dubai Customs department to protect the intellectual property rights of the brands.
The authorities said that the seizure will also help consumers obtain products that conform to international specifications.
Musabih said that UAE Authorities are committed to protecting intellectual property rights and to “enable trademark owners to maintain their business.” (AW)
