The Philippines crime index has declined by 68 percent since July 2016, said Philippine National Police chief General Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar.
Eleazar said from July 2016 to October of 2021, the crime index which is the barometer of peace and order has dropped by 68 percent.

The crimes against persons declined by 65 percent while crimes of property fell by 70 percent.
Further, the crime solution efficiency in the last five years is at 49 percent. This is one case solved for every two crimes that happened and is higher than the 26 percent of the previous administration.

“Hindi man napakagaling ‘yung 49 percent, but still improvement na napakalaki po ‘yun from 26 percent,” Eleazar said. (AW)
