Senator Manny Pacquiao said that he is praying for his opponent Errol Spence to recover swiftly after suffering from a torn retina.
“I pray for a complete recovery for Errol Spence. Luckily his examination prevented further damage to his eye,” Pacquiao said in a statement.
The Filipino boxing champ said that his training in the United States is among the best since his fight with Barrera.

“I am grateful it won’t be wasted. I look forward to showing everyone that Manny Pacquiao is still here to give the fans a good show,” he added.
The organizers say that World Boxing Association welterweight champion Yordenis Ugas will replace Spence and defend his title against the 42-year-old Pacquiao on August 21 in Las Vegas.

“I’m very disappointed that I won’t be able to fight Pacquiao on August 21,” Spence said in a statement.
“I was excited about the fight and the event. Unfortunately, the doctors found a tear in my left eye and said I needed to get surgery on it ASAP and that there was no way I could fight with my eye in that condition,” he added.
