Despite his high survey ratings on the recent Pulse Asia polls for presidency and vice presidency, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno denied that he has plans to run for 2022 national elections.
Moreno said that he is now focused on solving the problems of the City of Manila amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“One, I’m grateful. Thank you very much sa inyo sa mga sumagot na ‘yon at thank you very much sa inyo dahil sinasama niyo ako, it’s an honor, thank you very much,” he told CNN. “But let us go back to reality. Reality is there’s a pandemic and we, those names who were included in that survey, should continue to focus on the pandemic,” Moreno said.
Moreno ranked second from Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte who also denied running for 2022 polls.
“I think the most important thing nowadays is what are we going to do today, what are our plans today and what are we going to do in the next first quarter on the incoming vaccine,” he said.
He added, “I think yun muna siguro ang mahalaga, more than political growth or career growth.”
