The Abu Dhabi Health Authority (SEHA) has urged residents to get a flu vaccine as the prevalence of influenza is usually being recorded during this period.
“The flu vaccine protects you, protects your community, and eases the pressure on healthcare facilities – especially during this time. Call 80050 and book an appointment for your flu vaccination today,” SEHA said in a statement on Twitter.
Residents may also register and book at SEHA’s website https://www.seha.ae/.
Dr. Noura Al Ghaithi, COO of Ambulatory Healthcare Services at SEHA, said: “When more people get vaccinated, healthcare professionals will be able to dedicate their efforts to manage the demands placed by Covid-19 and other critical medical conditions.”

SEHA announced in October that the jab for the seasonal influenza is free-of-charge for all residents of the emirate as part of the “Protect Yourself, Protect You Community” campaign.
It is being administered at its healthcare facilities, with a drive-through option also available at select centers.
Home service vaccination is also being offered but it comes with a Dhs500 flat fee per household.
The reminder came at a time when the UAE announced that it has “officially registered” a COVID-19 vaccine produced by China National Pharmaceutical Group – Sinopharm, saying it is 86% effective.
The UAE’s health ministry said “analysis shows no serious safety concerns”.
