The Department of Health has confirmed that there are 90 new cases of the coronavirus disease or COVID-19 in the country bringing the total to 552.
In a media briefing, Health Undersecretary Ma. Rosario Vergeire said that the there are also two new fatalities recorded bringing the total to 35 and two people have recovered from the virus increasing the number to 20. Vergeire added that the number of confirmed cases will continue to climb as they expand the capacity of testing laboratories in the country.

“Naghahanap pa kami ng iba pang hospitals na may kakayahan na tumanggap ng COVID-19 patients,” Vergeire said in a media briefing.
Vergeire adds that while there are more test kits now available in the country, mass testing cannot be carried out yet as it would entail more laboratories and manpower. She ensured the public that details and feasibility of the mass testing is being studied and worked out at the moment.

The health official also appealed to hospitals to keep on accepting patients, even if they have COVID-19 cases.
