Chinese expats in Bahrain buying face masks in bulk to send to China

Chinese residents in Bahrain are reportedly buying face masks in large quantities to send to their loved ones in China, The Daily Tribune News of Bahrain reported.
According to store managers of pharmacies across the Kingdom, the expats are buying face masks in large numbers to help their loved ones back home, since the country is said to be experiencing a shortage of this product.

Bahrain Pharmacy Financial Controller Francis Kaitharath, in an interview with The Daily Tribune News of Bahrain, said that Chinese nationals buy 20 cartons of face masks in a day—especially the surgical and N95 masks.
The Kingdom is currently experiencing a shortage of face masks in Bahrain, as locals and residents have started panic buying amid the novel coronavirus—which has now claimed more than 1,000 lives. Some store managers are noting that people are taking extra caution to prevent being infected—with many of them buying in bulk and in large quantities.
