A man from another Gulf country killed his wife after he went mad when she asked him to buy her a top-up card for her mobile phone.
The man, in his 50s, used a stick to beat his 49-year-old wife before he went out and bought the card from a nearby shop in Ajman.
When he returned, he found her lying motionless on the floor but thought she was asleep, newspapers said.
The man called an ambulance after he could not wake her up, thinking she had fallen unconscious, the report said.
“Ambulance staff found that the woman was dead… forensic examination showed she suffered from concussions as a result of kicking and beating by a solid object,” the Arabic language daily Al Bayan said.
