After the phreatic eruption yesterday, the lava fountains were seen and recorded at 3:20 a.m. on Monday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) posted photos of the lava fountains on its Facebook page.
In an interview over radio DZMM, Ma. Antonia Bornas, chief of the Phivolcs volcano monitoring division, said the lava fountain finished at 4:30 a.m., adding that the Taal volcano is now emitting steam plume.
Meanwhile, larger particles of ash fall called “lapilis” have reportedly fallen in Tanauan, Talisay, Batangas; Tagaytay City, Nuvali, and Sta. Rosa, Laguna. These particles measures 2 to 64 millimeters in diameter, according to Phivolcs in its 3:20 a.m. advisory.
Ash fall was also reportedly fallen in Tanauan, Batangas; Escala, Tagaytay; Sta. Rosa, Laguna; Dasmarinas, Bacoor, and Silang, Cavite; Malolos, San Jose Del Monte, and Meycauayan, Bulacan; Antipolo, Rizal; Muntinlupa, Las Pinas, Marikina, Paranaque, Pasig, Quezon City, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Manila; Makati City and Taguig City.
Alert Level 4 is still in effect over the volcano based on its latest advisory issued at 8a.m. (PH Time).
“This means that hazardous explosive eruption is possible within hours to days,” the advisory read.
There were a total of 75 volcanic earthquakes that were recorded as of 5 a.m.
