The Justice Department revealed that the autopsy conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation showed clear indications that Filipina domestic worker Jeanelyn Villavende was sexually abused before she died.
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said on Sunday that there were old healed wounds on Jeanelyn Villavende’s body, which indicated that she was “battered for weeks” prior to her death.
The formal report will be submitted to his office on Monday, Guevarra said.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello earlier slammed the ‘fake’ and ‘dishonest’ autopsy report of Kuwaiti authorities, after the two sentence report showed that the Pinay worker reportedly died from “acute failure of heart and respiration as a result of shock and multiple injuries in the vascular nervous system”.
“I wrote to NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) to conduct our own autopsy, and I found out na ‘yong autopsy report ng Kuwaiti government ay palpak, sinungaling at walang kwenta,” Bello said in a speech in South Cotabato.
The dishonest report is now pushing Bello to recommend a total deployment ban of household workers.
