The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) has launched an intensified campaign on counterfeit products leading to the seizure of 72,900 fake products in the emirate.
The fake items included chargers, stickers and other counterfeit goods valued at Dh36,470.
Authorities also confiscated empty boxes of well-known brands.
SEDD Chairman Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi said in a report on the Khaleej Times that the government will not tolerate the selling of fake items.
Officials added that counterfeit products endangerpeople’s safety.
Authorities added that inspection campaigns on markets and establishments will continue to make sure that there will be no counterfeit items in the market.
