UAE authorities confiscated 965 fake designer bags and auto spare parts at a warehouse in the Umm Al Thaub industrial area.
Inspectors from the economic development department of the Umm Al Quwain municipality found the counterfeit items, reported Khaleej Times.
“The contraband included 600 women handbags with the label of famous international brands,” according to the sources of the Newspaper.
Authorities also found 10 boxes of auto spare parts and accessories of international car brands.
“Some of these were of Mercedes Benz and Toyota,”officials said.
After receiving a tip, the customer protection section formed a team and raided the warehouse.
The counterfeits were later destroyed.
UAE authorities said that there will be an intensified crack down on fake or counterfeit items to protect the public.
“All departments in the emirate spare no effort to protect rights of customers,” officials said.
