Saudi executes two Asian drug smugglers in 4 days

Two Asian nationals were executed in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia after being found guilty of drug smuggling.

The Saudi Press Agency has reported that Omran Haidar Ghulam Hussain was caught smuggling heroin and methamphetamine.

After the investigation, Hussain was found guilty and was sentenced to death. The Supreme Court endorsed the verdict resulting to a royal order issued to enforce the sentence.

Hussain was executed on Monday, April 15 in Jeddah.

Prior to Hussain’s execution, another Asian national, Abdul Malik Muhammad Khalil was nabbed by the authorities after hiding heroin in his stomach in an attempt to smuggle it into the country.

Khalil was executed in Jeddah on Thursday, April 11.

In the Saudi Arabia, laws on drug smuggling are strictly reinforced and people who are convicted of the crime are executed.
