At least two have been declared dead following the shooting incident that happened along the southbound lane of EDSA-Reliance on Sunday, February 17.
According to Mandaluyong Police, the two casualties, 51-year-old driver Allan Nomer Santos, and 62-year-old businessman Jose Ruiz Yulo, were onboard a white van when the gunmen riding a motorcycle fired shots at the victims’ vehicle.
A video from the scene show a white van stalled along EDSA-Reliance in front of the VRP Medical Center with the paramedics pulling out the victims from the van before putting them on medical gurneys.
Both victims, however, were declared dead at the hospital.
Another person in the van, meanwhile, survived the shooting.
“We heard gunshots while watching Netflix then sumilip kami sa windows to see what happened and saw this,” said Francis Garcia Sibbaluca, a person in the area when the incident happened.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), meanwhile, temporarily closed two lanes of the road following the incident.
