WATCH: Abu Dhabi Police releases voice clip of prize money scam

The Abu Dhabi police reminds UAE citizens to be mindful of the calls that they receive especially about possible scams involving winning raffle draws.

The law enforcement body recently released a call that they have received from an unknowing scammer that first asked the recipient of the call to check his mobile sim card for the numbers, and then attempted to phish details including the account IBAN number, or the debit/credit card number the expiry date and the 3-digit CVC security number.

The caller then promised that the amount won will be transferred by the end of the day.

Abu Dhabi Police advised residents to immediately report any scams and fraudulent calls to the authorities to the Aman service ( 800 2626 ) for immediate action.
