Buckingham Palace announced more details and information on the upcoming coronation of King Charles III.
King Charles III will be crowned together with his wife Queen Consort Camilla in a solemn religious service at Westminster Abbey on May 6.
There will be two processions which will be taking place on that day. One taking the King to be crowned and a larger parade back to Buckingham Palace after the historic service. Members of the royal family are expected to make an appearance at their balcony on that day.
Apart from the routes of the procession, carriages and coronation regalia, a new emoji has been released ahead of the historic event.
The new emoji was inspired by the St Edward’s Crown and it will appear on Twitter when coronation hashtags are used over the holiday weekend.
King Charles will also be using the Diamond Jubilee State coach on his way to the coronation event.
“Inside is beautifully upholstered in primrose yellow silk, and also fitted into the interior, our particular specimen woods. It’s a real microcosm of British and world history. There’re woods from the royal residences, from explorations and from other countries and nations as well,” says Sally Goodsir, the Royal Collection Trust’s curator of decorative arts.
“It’s significantly taller than any car on the road today, and it has this huge gold crown on the top — amazingly carved with oak from HMS Victory, one of the Royal Navy’s 18th-century flagships,” Goodsir further added.
Around 850 community representatives and key workers have been invited to the event.
Among the invitees also include the 450 recipients of British empire medals, 400 young people from the organizations selected by Charles and Camilla and heads of state.
President Bongbong Marcos and wife Liza Araneta-Marcos confirmed their attendance to the coronation day.
