WATCH: Colleagues join hands to honor memory of Filipino nurse who died of COVID-19 in UAE

Several frontliners in Sharjah temporarily left their stations for a few minutes to honour the memory of Filipino nurse Marlon Jimenea who died from complications brought about by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Peteromy Dominic Palacio took the video last May 4, which coincidentally marks what should have been Marlon’s ninth year of service in the UAE.
“Marlon was one of our pioneering staff, He belongs to the 3rd batch ng mga nurses na pinalipad namin mula sa Pilipinass. May 4 2011 siya nung dumating sa UAE,” said Palacio.
Palacio said that majority of those in the video to send off Jimenea following his cremation were batchmates who honored his memory as a dependable colleague.
“Doon sa video ay most of his batchmates na nasa UAE pa at maging ang iba na currently working sa ibang ospital na ay present din to say goodbye to him,” said Palacio.
Philippine Nurse Association’s UAE chapter earlier reported that the nurse who hails from Ilocos succumbed to the novel coronavirus on Sunday morning, April 26. He is the first Filipino health worker to die from the disease.
