Duterte appeals for bills payment extension, volunteers to pay rent

President Rodrigo Duterte is willing to go all out and even volunteered to pay the rent of those who can’t pay due to the stay-at-home policy imposed by the government as part of the ‘enhanced community quarantine’ in Luzon.
It’s unclear if Duterte is serious in his challenge that he will pay rent, but he appeals to those who are requiring monthly bills to give people a one month extension.

Duterte asks that renters and tenants be given some leeway in the payment of rent.
“Hindi ko sinasabing batas ito. Ang sinasabi ko kung ikaw ay Pilipino na nagmahal sa kapwa mo tao baka you can mitigate the hardship,” he said in a recorded speech in Malacañang.
“Kung ayaw mo, wag mo pilitin na magbayad, patirahin mo muna diyan sa lugar niya, ako ang magbayad,” Duterte added.

The President also said that a one month extension of paying bills will be a big help.
“Gawan ng paraan na mabawasan ng gastusin ang ang ating mga kababayan,” Duterte added.
