135 passengers arrived in Boracay from Wuhan, China

Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Thursday said 135 passengers entered the Philippines from Chinese cental city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak of 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-Ncov).
The passengers entered the country through Royal Air Charter flight which left the city hours before the lockdown was imposed.
The flight which departed around 6 a.m. landed in Kalibo International Airport in Boracay island.
“May bumaba pa rin na galing Wuhan, so vigilant naman ang ating quarantine personnel sa airport,” CAAP spokesperson Eric Apolonia told GMA News.
Apolonia said the passengers undergone thermal scanning before they were allowed to enter the country.
According to CAAP, there were six direct flights between Wuhan and Kalibo through Royal Air Charter and Pan Pacific Airline every week.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DOH) stressed that the new strain of coronavirus has not reached the Philippines yet.
