OWWA: Rapid response teams to be deployed in Iran, Iraq

Overseas Workers Welfare Administrator Hans Cacdac said rapid response teams are now deployed in Iraq and Iran areas as tension between the United States and Iran escalates.
“The Department of Foreign Affairs is already located where they should be in Baghdad and Tehran. There will be rapid response teams to be deployed,” Cacdac told CNN Philippines.
Cacdac added that the government continuously sends people to assist in the possible repatriation to the Philippines amid the ongoing Middle East conflict.
“Labor Sec. Bello announced there will be a DOLE contingent ready and we are leaving very soon. We are just arranging the paperwork,” Cacdac added.
Evacuation sites were still being finalized, according to Cacdac.
“Sa ngayon, there are discussions as to the points of evacuation. We know for sure that with the President’s directive, we have the necessary resources in place like a vessel to bring Filipinos home,” he added.
