Dubai Police arrested an Asian girl, identity withheld, on charges of stealing a jewelry shop where she works after she was caught by her employer.
The employer reported her to the police after he saw her on camera taking money from the safe, newspapers said.
The employer discovered that nearly Dh50,000 had disappeared from the safe and accused the Asian employee, who denied she stole his money.
But a security camera in the shop exposed the worker, who was seen opening the safe and taking the money.
The papers said the girl, who has returned nearly Dh16,000 to her employer, would stand trial on theft charges.
