LOOK: Pasta straws for your cold drinks?

by | News

Nov. 21, 19 | 4:55 pm

A company in the United Kingdom (UK) is selling pasta not as ingredients for food but as an alternative to the plastic straw.

Stroodles, founded by Maxim Gelmann, offers pasta straws that can last more than an hour in various types of cold drinks.

The pasta is flavorless so it doesn’t affect the taste of the drink.

Unlike paper that requires at least a month or plastic that never fully biodegrades, pasta is biodegradable and decomposes only in a day.

It’s also edible and vegan-friendly as it is made only from water and durum wheat semolina in Italy.

It’s easy to cut and you can do so according to the size of the glass.

Why has the owner ventured into pasta straws?

Gelmann shared that it grew from his belief that there must be a better way to enjoy your favorite cocktail, soda or smoothie whilst not leaving a footprint on the Earrh that will take generations to disappear.
