Abu Dhabi authorities have shut down a restaurant in the Eastern oasis town of Al Ain after repeated warnings over public health violations.
The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority ordered Aladdin Restaurant closed after its inspectors found that it poses a threat to public health.
“The restaurant was shut down because it has failed to abide by public health and safety rules which pose a threat to the health of consumers,” it said.
In a statement carried by Emarat Al Youm daily, the Authority said the restaurant was shut down following several notices and fines against the facility this year.
The Authority said it would pursue inspections and health campaigns to ensure all restaurant and other food outlets comply with public safety rules with the aim of protecting the society.
