A security guard of the Universal American School of Dubai died in a road accident just outside the school gate on Monday.
Lil Bahador Pariyar was hit by a car, the official daily Albayan said on Wednesday.
In a statement, UAS said the guard was rushed to hospital after the accident on Monday morning but died later.
“We feel grieved at the tragic death of one of our security guards…we send our condolences to his family and all students,” it said.
In a “noble gesture,” school boys bought flowers and gifts and placed them where the guard used to perform his duty, the paper said.
Meanwhile, police warned motorists to always give ways to pedestrians and follow speed limits in school zones.
