Futuristic transit system, Hyperloop introduce faster way to travel in the UAE

Soon, traveling in the UAE and the neighboring Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will be made faster and convenient once the futuristic transit system. Hyperloop becomes operational by 2027.

Virgin Hyperloop One, the company that is developing this futuristic transit system, is currently working with the Roads and Transportation Authority (RTA) in Dubai and Mubadala to look for synergies and develop the UAE project, says a report from Khaleej Times.

At the sidelines of the GITEX Technology Week, Harj Dhaliwal, managing director for Middle East and India at Virgin Hyperloop One, revealed that this transit system is their vision to connect the Gulf region. This will enable traveling time from Abu Dhabi to Riyadh to be completed in 48 minutes and from Dubai to Abu Dhabi in 11 minutes.

Dhaliwal added there is also an opportunity to connect Dubai International Airport to Al Maktoum Airport and at the same time provide better connectivity of Dubai International Airport to Dubai South after Expo 2020.

The initial rollout of technology approval and certification process for safety among others is in 2025.

A month ago, the company signed an agreement with the King Abdullah Economic City Authority of Saudi Arabia. They are exploring opportunities for manufacturing and innovation.

He also revealed that there is a possibility of having hyperloop manufacturing in the UAE and KSA.
