A Filipina transgender identified as Mhelody Bruno was murdered in Australia.
Mhelody’s brother, Leonel, said they were about to go home this week after their two month vacation in Australia when the tragedy happened.
“Pauwi na siya sa Pilipinas sa 28, kaso noong 22 po nawawala po siya ” Leonel Bruno told Rappler.com
The family asked for help from the Philippine Embassy in Australia and Foreign Affairs Department.
Mhelody was reported dead on September 22 in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales.
No details yet on how she was killed but initial reports said that she was raped before being killed.
“Panawagan sana namin matulungan kami para maiuwi ang kapatid namin. Sana matulungan kami. Walang nag-a-asikaso sa amin. Ang expected namin uuwi na siya, tapos biglaang ito ang mangyayari,” Bruno saod. (Trish Tan)
