A passenger jeepney made an attempt to cross the raging river in Davao Del Sur.
In a video posted by Dennis Sabado, the jeep was seen trying to cross the Bulatukan River.
“Sinubukang tumawid ang jeep na kargado ng mga pasahero at walong sako ng bigas galing Bansalan sa Tacul, Magsaysay,” a municipal official told ABS-CBN News.
The jeepney then flipped as it approached the other side. The vehicle’s eight passengers were able to survive.
Heavy rains from the mountain contributed to the town’s raging river. A dump truck tried helping the jeep but later on was carried by the raging waters too.
A backhoe from the municipal government was able to get the jeep after 30 minutes.
