President Rodrigo Duterte asked high ranking officials of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) to submit their courtesy resignation amid allegations of fraud involving the Philhealth fund.
“Hindi po katanggap-tanggap itong nangyari na ito. Isipin niyo, mayroon pa pong patay na nagke-claim mula sa kaban ng gobyerno,” Senator-elect Bong Go said in a media briefing.
Go said that the President listened to the explanation of health care officials, and vouch for Philhealth OIC Roy Ferrer.
“Naghahanap si Pangulo ng not limited to a doctor, yung manager na strikto sa pag-aalaga ng pera ng taongbayan,” Go said.
The senator-elect also warned that the implementation of the Universal Healthcare Law may be suspended.
