Truck falls off cliff after driver followed Google Maps

A truck driver in Indonesia sustained injuries when his vehicle fell off a cliff after following Google maps which led him to a motorcycle-only route.

The truck driver, identified as Agus Tri Pamungkas, used Google Maps to find his way to Singakerta village in Ubud, Bali to deliver rocks from Banyuwangi, East Java, reported The Jakarta Post.

However, the app led him to a motorcyle-only route in Lodtunduh village, Ubud. Upon the realization that he had to turn back, it was too late since the road is narrow.

Agus continued traversing the narrow road before his vehicle stalled and fell off a cliff into the Wos River.

Residents in the area quickly helped to rescue Agus who sustained bruises and sprains. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and has since been released.

Since the incident, the leaders of the village had been advised to put up a sign instructing drivers of large vehicle to seek alternate routes and avoid entering the narrow road.
