Emirates warns passengers vs fake surveys offering free tickets

Dubai-based airline company Emirates has warned passengers against fake online surveys that offer free plane tickets in return.

According to Emirates, their official contents, including competitions, are only posted in their social media accounts which are marked by a blue verified icon.

“Emirates is aware that there are online competitions and social media posts circulating regarding ticket giveaways for the New Year. This is not an official competition and we advise caution,” an Emirates official told Gulf News.

The recent survey ask online users to answer a survey in exchange of free tickets from the airline company.

The post claimed that the survey is a part of the airline company’s celebration of the New Year and anniversary and that a total of 500 tickets would be given away to those who would answer the survey.

These kinds of surveys, however, are noted to be a popular way for scammers to have access to the user’s credit card details, among other important information.
