Dubai employer to face deportation for molesting woman in car

An employer in Dubai will be facing three months in jail after a woman filed sexual assault charges against him.

The suspect, who works as a shopkeeper in Qusais, called one of his female staff outside of the shop to talk to him inside his car, reported Emarat Al Youm.

The woman said that she initially assumed that the suspect would only talk to her about work-related matters inside the car since they have already done that before.

Upon stepping inside the car, the employer did open up something about work and told the female staff about declining sales.

When the two of them were done talking and were about to leave the car, the woman asked her employer if she could take a leave the following day since it was the birthday of her child.

The shopkeeper then locked the doors of his car and told his employee that he will only approve her request to take a leave if she will do something for him in return.

The man started touching the woman inappropriately and even pulled her hair when she resisted.

He continued molesting her but the woman started to scream so loudly that it caused the man to stop.

However, before they left the car, the employer threatened the woman that he would fire her if she tells anyone about what happened inside the car.

After the incident, the woman immediately told her roommate and sister about the incident. She decided to seek help from authorities by filing a complaint against her employer.

The defendant was then arrested and referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office. He denied the charges before the court, but the ruling sentenced him to three months in jail.

He will also be deported after serving his jail term.
