86% of UAE employers to hire in next 12 months, survey reveals

A research released by Bayt.com and YouGov revealed that 86 percent of UAE employers intend to hire new employees in the next 12 months.

The survey, called Bayt.com’s Job Index Survey, also added that 78 percent of UAE employers also plan to hire in the next three months, reported Arabian Business.

Among the most popular jobs that will be open for jobseekers in the UAE include sales executive (30 percent), accountant (29 percent), project manager (23 percent), sales manager (22 percent), marketing or project management directors (20 percent), and finance analyst (20 percent).

Employers’ required level of experience from their applicants also vary. Four in ten employers (41%) said they will be hiring jobseekers with mid-level experience ranging from three to seven years. Meanwhile, 38 percent prefer candidates with sales and marketing experience.

Additionally, 34 percent said they will be hiring those with managerial experience while another 25 percent said they prefer jobseekers with IT or computer experience.

In terms of jobseekers’ preferred sector, real estate, construction and property development topped the list. Other sectors preferred by jobseekers include advertising, marketing and PR, banking and finance, engineering and design, IT, business consultancy, and telecommunications.

On a larger scale, 73 percent of employers in the GCC region said they intend to hire in te next three months. In the region, the most hirings will be done in the automotive (84 percent) and real estate, construction and property development (81per cent) sectors.

For young jobseekers, Suhail Masri, vice president of employer solutions at Bayt.com, advised that they need to develop their communication and leadership skills to get a better chance of getting hired since many employers are also looking for candidates in entry-level positions.
