A Filipina nanny in Dubai who admitted to killing her newborn through suffocation will undergo psychiatric tests to check her mental health status.
During the hearing before the Dubai Criminal Court, the sister of the nanny’s employer said that the maid visited her home in Al Qusais in Dubai on September 16, 2017, reported The National.
The employer’s sister added that the nanny excused herself to go the bathroom. They grew worried when the nanny has not left the bathroom after two hours.
When the nanny decided to go out of the bathroom, she was carrying a plastic bag before lying down on a chair.
The nanny started bleeding and was rushed to the hospital where it was discovered that she gave birth while inside the bathroom.
The Police was called to check the employer’s sister’s home where the plastic bag, which contained the dead baby, was retrieved.
Upon further investigation, the baby’s cause of death was suffocation. The Filipina admitted that she pushed a piece of cloth to the baby’s mouth resulting to his eventual death.
