Ambassadors’ tour brings hundreds Filipino-Americans back to PH

Some 300 Americans and Filipinos step foot in the Philippines today for the 12th Ambassadors’ tour, which will run from July 9 to July 15, reported Philippine Star.

The Ambassadors’ Tour is a flagship project of Philippine Foreign Service Posts in the United States, the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Tourism, and Raja Tours.

The tour allows Filipino-Americans to revisit their homeland and become Philippine Tourism Ambassadors.

Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel Romualdez will lead the tour in visiting Manila, Cebu and Bohol. The Manila tour will visit the University of Santo Tomas Museum and the Metropolitan Museum of Manila. The group is also set to visit the cultural sights in Cebu, swim with the whalesharks at Oslob and explore Bohol.

Romualdez believes that the tour will give Filipino-Americans to reconnect with their roots and develop pride in their Filipino identity, making them more effective ambassadors of the Philippines in the US

The Ambassadors’ tour offered a package of about $1,000 inclusive of roundtrip plane transport, resort transfer, breakfast at the hotels, and the service of guides throughout the tour.
