Dubai Astronomy Group rejected the claim of American preacher Paul Begley that the upcoming blood moon is a sign that “UAE will be stunned.”
Dubai Astronomy Group CEO, Hasan Ahmad Al Hariri said the upcoming blood moon is a natural phenomenon which residents should not be scared of.
“The lunar eclipse is a geometry of three bodies, which makes the white bright moon turn blood-red. Now, how does it happen? When the sun, earth and moon are aligned, the shadow of earth falls on the moon and we see what we call the lunar eclipse,” Al Hariri told Khaleej Times.
Al Hariri encouraged residents to learn about the eclipse by visiting the astronomy centre on July 27 and witness the lunar eclipse there.
Begley posted a video on his Youtube channel claiming that the blood moon is a sign of doomsday.
“We’re in our last days,” Begley said in the video.
“The United Arab Emirates is going to be stunned – they’re already stunned at what’s coming. The Blood Moon that’s going to be directly over the Middle East, directly over Jerusalem and the UAE. They are already stunned by the realisation of 103 minutes of absolute Blood Moon over their heads,” he added.
“Blood moon”
A rare lunar eclipse will appear in the skies of the UAE later this month. The blood moon eclipse will be a sight to see this coming July 27, at 9:14 PM local time.
The said lunar eclipse will be visible in several other places in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
It is reported that the upcoming blood moon eclipse will be the longest eclipse of the century. The moon will enter its eclipse phase at 9:14 PM UAE time and will last until 2:19 AM.
The eclipse’s totality will occur from 11:30 PM until 1:30 AM for 103 minutes, and the peak eclipse time will take place at 12:21 AM.
