Violating this traffic rule in UAE will entail Dh 2,000 fine, 23 black points

Putting other drivers’ lives in jeopardy is a punishable traffic violation in the UAE which can entail a hefty fine.

In a message sent by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), authorities warned drivers to be cautious of their driving in order to not put other motorists in danger, reported Emarat Al Youm.

The RTA said that drivers who do not stay on their lanes or use their signal when switching lanes, as well as those who are caught speeding, will face punishment for committing such violations.

They would have to pay Dh2,000, and will earn 23 black points. Their vehicles will also be confiscated for 60 days.

The RTA also reminded motorists in the said message to “take full rest before driving”. If drivers feel like dozing off while on the road, the RTA advised that they should stop driving and pull over to the side of the road immediately.
