DepEd reminds public about deadline of senior high school voucher program

The Department of Education (DepEd) reminded guardians of senior high school students in a statement that the deadline for the submission of requirements for the Senior High School Voucher Program (SHS VP) will be on Friday, April 27.

The program, which was signed on March 28, aims to accommodate more Grade 10 (Junior High School) completers for School Year 2018-2019 by giving them the option to enroll in private schools, state universities and colleges, and local universities and colleges – including technical and vocational schools offering the SHS program.

“The voucher enables students to claim a “discount” or a deduction from the cost of tuition and other fees charged by a non-DepEd SHS where he or she will enroll. The voucher subsidy is not given to students directly in the form of cash but will be disbursed by DepEd to the non-DepEd SHS where he or she enrolls,” the DepEd stated in their website.

The public can apply by accessing the Private Education Assistance Committee’s Online Voucher Application Program at http://ovap.deped.gov.ph.

Meanwhile, concerns may be directed to [email protected] and full information about the program can be viewed here.
