Tricycle driver returns passenger’s P22,000 cash

A tricycle driver in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte is gaining respect from netizens after he returned P22,000 cash left by one of his passengers.

According to Dennis Alipio, the 35-year-old tricycle driver, a passenger named Wagner Valdez left her wallet in his tricycle on Friday, March 9.

The driver immediately contacted Valdez after getting her number on the sim card holder that he found inside the passenger’s wallet.

The passenger extended his gratitude toward Alipio since the money will be used for her family’s expenses and passport application.

Alipio admitted that he is also in need of money as his father is suffering from and taking medications. Alipio’s wife also plans to work abroad to help with the family’s expenses. Despite this, Alipio said that he did not think twice in returning the money to its rightful owner.

“Sana may mas marami pang kapalit itong grasya. Kasi kung kukunin ko ito na hindi sa akin at hindi ko pinaghirapan, mas malaki ang karma,” the driver said.

Alipio’s tricycle association gave the driver an award for his honesty.
