Abu Dhabi police cancel registered traffic violations

The Abu Dhabi Police has announced that it is cancelling registered non-dangerous traffic violations with the enforcement of a new federal traffic law starting July 1.

The move gives opportunity for drivers to correct their driving before implementing the new amendments of the Federal Traffic Law No. 21. Motorists can pay fines through Dubai Police Traffic Department, Police stations, vehicle registration centres, fine payment machines in shopping centres, through the internet and Roads and Transport Authority’s offices.

Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director-General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police.
said traffic violations that will not be cancelled are reckless driving, exceeding speed limits, running red lights, driving vehicles in a way that endangers the lives of the public, and driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Meanwhile, Brigadier Khalifa Al Khaili, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, said they want to ensure implementing the new traffic rules and procedures as part of Abu Dhabi Police’s strategic priorities and objectives aimed at serving the interests of road users and improving traffic safety.
