Kuwait’s General Staff said Monday that the country’s air defense systems engaged hostile objects after they entered Kuwaiti airspace.
In a statement carried by the Kuwait News Agency, the military said the explosions heard in some parts of the country were caused by mid-air interceptions.
The General Staff did not immediately identify the nature or origin of the hostile objects or provide additional operational details.
Authorities urged the public to follow safety instructions issued by the competent government agencies as they continue to monitor the situation.
