Honey Lacuna set to be Manila’s first female mayor

Dr. Honey Lacuna-Pangan, the incumbent vice mayor of the City of Manila, has made history and is set to become the first woman mayor of Manila.

Maria Shielah “Honey” Lacuna bagged 497,752 votes in a six-way race.

Those who trailed Lacuna were: Alex Lopez (PFP) – 154,794 votes; Amado Bagatsing (KABAKA) – 106,543votes; Cristina Lim Raymundo (PDR) – 13,787 votes; Elmer Jamias (PRP) – 3,672 votes; and Onofre Abad (Independent) – 2,398 votes.

Her tandem, actor Yul Servo-Nieto, also won the race for Vice Mayor with 554,986 votes.

Lacuna is looking to implement better health programs for the city and was endorsed by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

Before joining politics, she worked as a physician from 1995 to 2004 in the city health office and also served as a city councilor from 2004 to 2013 and was vice mayor for two terms.
