Duterte officials want nationwide restriction for unvaccinated

Cabinet officials of the Duterte administration are pushing for a nationwide restriction for unvaccinated people amid the surge of COVID-19 cases.

Metro Manila mayors have passed a resolution restricting the mobility of those unvaccinated against the virus.

“We are recommending that this policy in NCR also be adopted by the entire country, even in areas na hindi pa nagsu-surge dahil alam naman po natin it is really just a matter of time na itong Omicron ay kumalat na sa buong bansa,” Presidential adviser for COVID-19 Vince Dizon said.

Health Secretary Francisco Duque, Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez, NTF Chairperson Delfin Lorenzana and DILG Chief Eduardo Ano all agreed on the proposal.

Under Alert Level 3, unvaccinated people are not allowed to enter establishments and use public transportation.

They should remain at home unless they will need to go out for essential goods.
