Duterte, Pacquiao hold ‘friendly’ meeting after verbal spat

President Rodrigo Duterte and Sen. Manny Pacquiao held a “friendly” meeting months after the latter accused the government of corruption in the health sector.

Malacañang said that Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go requested the meeting of both officials.

Go said the two had a short talk and “renewal of friendship”.

“Walang politika. Important nagkausap sila ni PRRD. Kami naman ni Manny, kaibigan naman kami ni kumpare,” he said.

According to Pacquiao’s camp, the meeting revolved around talks related to people’s interest and Mindanao development, specifically infrastructure and power industry.

To recall, the President and Pacquiao had a verbal spat with regard to the West Philippine Sea issue and supposed corruption in the health department.

Pacquiao is running for president under a self-led faction in the ruling party PDP-Laban.
