The Dubai Police have rescued a three-year-old boy whose arm got stuck in a swimming pool’s drain.
The boy was able to remove the cover of the drain while he was swimming in his residence at Dubai-Al Ain Road.
Upon the rescue team’s arrival, they drained the water from the pool and cut off the electricity to start their rescue mission.
Rescuers used special equipment to smash the area around the pipe and get the child’s arm. The rescue operations lasted for at least two hours. An ambulance also joined the mission to check on the boy’s situation.
Experts advise parents to watch over their children all the time when swimming and to avoid distractions such as their smartphones.
They are also urged to learn CPR and to have an emergency plan in place while they wait for emergency responders.
