WATCH: Nurse delivers baby of homeless woman on the street

An unidentified nurse recently went viral after she delivered the baby of a homeless woman on a sidewalk in Makati City on August 18.

The nurse, only known as Loraine, helped Jeka Rausa give birth to a healthy baby girl at 7 AM along Osmeña Highway.

“Si Nurse Loraine ang tumulong sa Bangkal Fire Emergency Rescue Disaster Support Team sa pagpapaanak sa pasyente,” one of the barangay officials told Pep.ph.

He said that Osmeña Highway is a shuttle pick-up point for nurses, and that was probably how Loraine encountered Rausa.

The official added that after she delivered the baby, an ambulance arrived and immediately rushed the mother and daughter to Ospital ng Makati for further treatment.

He also stressed that the said highway is teeming with homeless people, with motorists and commuters giving them aid through money or food.

Makikita mo sila sa center island,” he said.
