LOOK: Mutya ng Kasarinlan 2019 committee presents candidates vying for the crown

United Cebuanos – Abu Dhabi chapter, led by their president, 2017 TFT Fashion Designer of the Year Aldwin ‘Jlo’ Ornopia, has recently presented the lovely candidates for this year’s Mutya ng Kasarinlan 2019, the beauty pageant that celebrates the beauty, brains and confidence of Filipinas here in the UAE.

15 candidates coming from all over the Philippines have successfully gone through the stringent screening process and are now officially in the run to be hailed as the new Mutya ng Kasarinlan following the footsteps of last year’s winner, Monic Dayrit.

“One word – Fabulous! It’s gonna be levelling up. We made it a point na mas higitan yung last year and we have 15 beautiful and talented candidates. You will not expect na OFW pala sila kasi marami pa rin palang mga beauty queens na nandidito,” said Ornopia.

The gala night where the winner will be hailed will take place at the Abu Dhabi Breakwater Theatre this June 21.

The main organizer of the beauty pageant also shared that several of the candidates have pageant backgrounds and even those who are still quite young are equally talented, confident and fierce. “We have Miss Negros, Miss Dumaguete, Miss Koronadal, we have a candidate from Global Philippines before – marami tayong mga candidates ngayon at tsaka may mga bata. Although palaban din ang mga bata ngayon so we have fresh faces,” shares Ornopia.

On June 14, the queens will be showcasing their inner talents through their ‘Talents Day’. “We expect a fabulous presentation kasi pinaghahandaan nila. We have our professional singers, dancers, may mga back ups. Tapos they will wear their little black dress creations of their own,” said Ornopia.
