Filipino restaurant owner in Dubai passes away

Adlene Panis, owner of Ihawan Restaurant in Dubai who has helped a lot of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), has passed away in the early hours of November 21.

On a post from the Ihawan Restaurant Facebook page, Denise Panis, Adlene’s daughter thanked all of the people who helped them through their years in Dubai. “On behalf of my mother, Adlene, we (Panis Family and Ihawan Family), would like to extend our gratitude to all of our families, friends, customers, customers that turned into friends and partners, and the people who continue to support and are helping my mother to make her visions turn into a reality (you know who you are). The plans and visions that she promised will surely come to life. She may not be a part of the rest of the operations and planning but she will be one of the reasons to make her, and your dreams and visions turn into a reality,” said Denise Panis.

Adlene Panis was also one of the nominees of the TFT Awards Entrepreneur of the Year last 2016 and 2017 after being nominated for the success of her Ihawan restaurant here in the UAE where she managed to bring the authentic Pinoy grilling experience to the table for her Filipino and expat customers. Adlene also brought her success in the restaurant business to the Philippines as she opened Burgers and Roasters in GMA.

Denise thanks all of those who sent their condolences and messages to help her family through this phase: “Ngayon ko lang po nalaman kung gaano po karami ang napasaya niya, natulungan, at napamahal sa kanya. My heart is broken pero po masaya po ako na marami po kayong nagmamahal at nagccare po sa kanya. Salamat po sa inyong lahat.”

Denise said that her mom’s wake will take place in the Philippines.

More details about Adlene’s story will be updated soon.
