Xiamen airlines’ runway excursion forces runway closure of Manila Airport

Cebu Pacific releases travel advisory for diverted and cancelled Dubai-Manila flights

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has announced an extended temporary closure of the main Manila runway today due to a runway excursion incident caused by Xiamen airlines, affecting several airline’s flights.

The Cebu Pacific flight which departed from Dubai to Manila last night, Thursday, August 16 has been diverted to Clark to ensure the safety of the passengers.

Cebu Pacific has also released a travel advisory pertinent to the incident and has announced the cancellation of the following flights for the time being:

– 5J 015 Dubai-Manila
– 5J 014 Manila-Dubai
– 5J 805 Manila-Singapore
– 5J 806 Singapore-Manila
– 5J 112 Manila-Hong Kong
– 5J 113 Hong Kong-Manila
– 5J 188 Manila-Incheon
– 5J 187 Incheon-Manila
– 5J 487 Manila-Bacolod
– 5J 488 Bacolod-Manila
– 5J 457 Manila-Iloilo
– 5J 458 Iloilo-Manila
– 5J 639 Manila-Puerto Princesa
– 5J 640 Puerto Princesa-Manila
– 5J 319 Manila-Legazpi
– 5J 320 Legazpi-Manila
– 5J 506 Manila-Tuguegarao
– 5J 507 Tuguegarao-Manila

Passengers of the above flight are strongly advised not to proceed to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 and avail of the following options, without penalties:

– Rebook flights for travel within 30 days;
– Convert into a Travel Fund for future use;
– Get a full refund.

Passengers affected by the sudden cancellation may proceed to the “Manage Booking” section in the Cebu Pacific website, www.cebupacificair.com to manage their flights. The airline advises all customers to proceed to the aforementioned website as it is the fastest way to rebook or refund your flight.
