Kuwait has strongly condemned the latest attack by Yemen’s Houthi group on the Saudi vessel NCA MASA in the Red Sea, describing it as a violation of international law and a threat to international maritime security.
In a statement, Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the repeated attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea, including the latest incident involving the Saudi ship while it was sailing through the strategic waterway.
The ministry said the attacks constitute a blatant breach of international law and pose a direct threat to the security and freedom of maritime navigation as well as the safety of international trade.
Kuwait reaffirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and expressed support for all measures taken by the kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, security and national interests.
The ministry also stressed the need for all parties to comply with international law and uphold rules that guarantee the freedom and safety of navigation in international waters.
The Red Sea is one of the world’s busiest maritime trade routes, and attacks on commercial shipping have raised concerns over regional security and disruptions to global commerce.
